Barcelona's Eric Abidal leaves hospital after liver transplant

Barcelona's Eric Abidal has been released from hospital – almost seven weeks after undergoing a liver transplant. "Given the particular nature of this recovery process, Abidal will have to undergo regular hospital checkups," said the club's website.
The France defender, 32, underwent a lengthy operation on 10 April, with an organ donated by his cousin Gerard. He had had surgery to remove a tumour from his liver in March 2011 and returned two months later to help lift the European Cup, when they defeated Manchester United at Wembley.
Barcelona have one more game remaining this season, the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao at Madrid's Calderón on Friday.
It will be Pep Guardiola's last official game as head coach before he steps aside for his assistant Tito Vilanova to take charge for next season.
