Jordi Alba: Valencia have denied that a deal has been agreed to sell the full-back to Barcelona
Valencia have rejected speculation that a deal has already been agreed with Barcelona for the sale of Spain international Jordi Alba.
The left-back has one more season left to run on his contract at the Mestalla and has been strongly linked with a return to Camp Nou this summer.
Alba came through the youth ranks at Barcelona before establishing himself as one of the most consistent full-backs in Europe during the past couple of seasons at Valencia.
The likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with a bid for the 23-year-old, but Barcelona are reportedly favourites to agree a deal.
Valencia sporting director Braulio Vazquez insists that there have been no offers for Alba, but understands if the player's agents are evaluating any interest.
"I can be clear that the player has not been sold to Barcelona," Vazquez told reporters.
"We have not received a formal offer for him. Jordi Alba still has a deal with us until June 2013.
"It is normal that Jordi's agents are analysing possible offers but we have not negotiated with anybody. This is the truth."
