Karim Benzema has admitted that he is currently enjoying life at Real Madrid so much that he would have no problem finishing his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite a rough start to his career at the Spanish capital where his fitness and commitment were questioned by fans and media, Benzema broke rounded off a successful season with Real Madrid where he scored 32 goals in 52 appearances.
The 24-year old refused to rule out ending his career at Santiago Bernabeu after a successful season with Los Blancos, where they broke the 100-point mark to set a Spanish record on the way to the La Liga title.
"Why not finish my career here? I don't know if I can play for as many years as Raul, though! We'll see," he told RMC, "Everything is going super well for me now. We have won the league and we're all really proud of this team.
"It is true that at first it was a bit tricky for me because it was the first time that I had been separated from my family.
"But with patience and hard work everything got better. I had always intended to play for this team and today I am very happy."
Benzema also explained that France legend and current Madrid sporting director Zinedine Zidane and coach Jose Mourinho both played a key role as he finally settled at the club.
"Zidane's help was important for me," he admitted. "He is the best player of all time in France and he spoke with me.
"And Mou always told me what he wanted from me. We talked a lot and he trusted in me."
