Arbroath player/manager Paul Sheerin is his side's only doubt for the second leg of their First Division play-off semi-final against Dumbarton.

Sheerin suffered a rib injury during Wednesday's 2-1 first-leg defeat and will be assessed ahead of the encounter.

Sheerin is set to freshen up his line-up and tactics, as he explained: "We played with only one man up front in the first leg but I will change that as we need to get a goal at some stage during the game.

"The most important thing for us is not to panic as we have shown this season we can score goals.

"It may take time but we have to remember that we only need the one goal in the 90 minutes to give us a chance of winning the tie in extra-time or penalties."

Dumbarton striker Bryan Prunty is expected to be available for the encounter despite picking up an eye injury in the first leg.

Sons defender Paul Nugent is suspended and manager Alan Adamson's options are restricted as Ryan Finnie and Mark Lamont both remain out with ankle injuries.

However, on-loan Falkirk youngster Ally Graham could return after missing out in midweek.

Adamson said: "The first meeting was a great result earned in a really good end-to-end game and I would imagine the second leg will be the same. Arbroath can score goals so we need to be on our guard throughout while also looking to add to our lead.

"All season our guys have battled and we will need those battling qualities again."
