Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is seeking prolonged success at the club, knowing that one more win will secure the team's first league title in over 44 years.

The Ivorian scored twice to topple Newcastle 2-0 on Sunday, and a win against QPR on the final day would all but ensure that the title will be making its way to the blue side of Manchester.

"We know it's going to be tough, but I believe in this team, I believe in the players we have. We have one match left to play at home and we have to deliver in this game," Toure told the club's official website. "Forty four years is unbelievable, it is too many years. I have always said I came to this club to make history even if some people said I came for different things. That is my first objective, to help make the club into a successful football club."

With nine goals and eight assists this campaign, the Ivory Coast international has inspired his team to a vital winning run, and he is full of praise for the club's foreign owners as a Premier League triumph approaches.

"Khaldoon [Al Mubarak] and [Sheikh] Mansour are doing incredibly well," he declared. "They have signed big players and they want to make this club a great club, one of the best clubs in Europe, and they are going the right way.

"Last year, we won the FA Cup and we have to continue like that and next week try to win the game against QPR."
