AS Roma vs Catania preview - Luis Enrique quiet on future

Under-fire Roma coach Luis Enrique is determined to end the season on a high when his team take on Catania.

Luis Enrique is widely tipped to leave the Eternal City outfit at the end of the campaign after just one year in charge.

Reports in Italy have linked former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas with the Roma hotseat this summer.

"The rumours regarding other coaches don't bother me," Luis Enrique said.

"I don't want to talk about my future because right now that doesn't interest me.

"My focus is on our next two games and on the possibility of qualifying for the Europa League."

Roma have endured a disappointing season and have taken just two points in their last four games.

They lie seventh in the standings with two games remaining and are in danger of missing out on European football next season.

Inconsistency has been Roma's main problem this term. Of their 36 league games so far, the Giallorossi have won 15 while losing 14.

Tuesday's goalless draw against Chievo left Roma four points behind city rivals Lazio, who are fifth and hold the last Europa League qualifying spot.

"It's not the same to end the season having qualified for Europe than to miss out," Luis Enrique said.

"We will try but it's not going to be easy as every time we have had a chance to cut the gap with the teams above us, we have failed."

Roma will be lifted by the return of strikers Erik Lamela and Daniel Osvaldo from suspension.

The game will have a special significance for Catania coach Vincenzo Montella.

The former Roma tactician will return for the first time to the Stadio Olimpico since leaving the Giallorossi outfit last summer.

"It's not going to be a game like any other," Montella said.

"I know the club, the fans and the stadium very well so it will be special."

The Sicilians travel to the Stadio Olimpico looking to bounce back from Wednesday's 1-0 defeat against Bologna.

That result dropped Catania to 10th in the standings and left them with just one win in their last eight games.
