Italian international striker Antonio Cassano hit his first goal on Sunday since returning from heart surgery, opening the scoring for AC Milan in the 4-1 win over Siena in their Serie A clash.
The 29-year-old, who only returned to playing earlier this month after undergoing heart surgery on November 14, converted a cross by strike partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 26th minute.
Cassano's first goal for Milan since scoring against Palermo on October 15 will also be welcomed by Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, who regards him as his No 1 striker.
"Cassano deserves the day that he's had. You can't dispute his talent and he's proved that his physical condition is getting better. I'm sure he'll have a fine European Championships," said Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Italy are in Group C at the European Championships - being co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine - along with defending champions Spain, Republic of Ireland and Croatia.
