Granada CF 1 : 0 Getafe - Franco Jara fillip for Filipinos

Granada took a significant step towards survival as they secured a 1-0 victory over Getafe - their first win in four games - to move eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Franco Jara put the hosts in front after 18 minutes as he latched onto Carlos Martins' great through ball and calmly slotted past Miguel Angel Moya.
Getafe only really had one clear-cut chance to get level when Inigo Lopez's slip allowed Diego Castro to stride through on goal, but he went for power rather than accuracy and sent his shot just wide.
The visitors had come into the game on the back of a fantastic performance in the 5-1 dismantling of Sevilla on Monday night. Pedro Rios had scored only his second goal of the season in that game and he nearly had another just 14 minutes in as his low drive was well palmed away by Julio Cesar.
Unfortunately for Getafe they had no takers arriving to slot home the rebound.
Moments later it was Granada who were in front as Martins carried the ball through midfield, jinked past Alexis, and then slid a lovely ball through for Jara.
The Argentinean cut deftly inside before finding the bottom right-hand corner.
Getafe came close to a fortunate equaliser just before half-time as Mane's shot was unwittingly turned towards goal by Miku but the ball flashed just wide.
And the visitors should have been level on 55 minutes when Lopez's unfortunate slip handed Castro a wonderful opportunity, but with only the goalkeeper to beat and two teammates in support, the former Sporting Gijon midfielder could not find the target.
Thereafter Granada were quite comfortable and could have even added a second goal but Alexandre Geijo spurned a good opening from the edge of the area and Dani Benitez was denied when one-on-one with Moya with the last kick of the game.
