Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti wants coach Andrea Stramaccioni to remain in charge next season.

Zanetti, whose team visit Fiorentina on Sunday, believes Stramaccioni has had a positive impact on the group.

Stramaccioni was promoted from youth team coach to guide the first team last month as a temporary replacement for the sacked Claudio Ranieri.

Inter are still unbeaten under Stramaccioni and the 36-year-old tactician will be looking for his third win in four league games in Tuscany this weekend.

And Zanetti told the Inter Channel: "We are working well together and there is great enthusiasm in training.

"Stramaccioni is good, he came in and was humble and honest from the start.

"He has very clear ideas and he likes a certain style of football and we have all bought into it.

"Hopefully, we will be able to end the season as best we can and Andrea can continue.

"It's true that he doesn't have much experience working with first teams, but from day one he came across as a talented coach."

The Nerazzurri travel to the Artemio Franchi stadium in search of three points to remain in the battle for European football.

Inter beat Siena 2-1 last time out and sit six points behind Lazio, who hold the last Champions League qualifying spot with six games left to play.

"It's going to be a complicated game," Zanetti added.

Inter can expect a tough battle as Fiorentina are looking to take a step towards Serie A survival.

The Tuscan outfit were held to a goalless draw by Palermo in the last round and are in 16th place, just three points above the drop zone.

Fiorentina, coached by Delio Rossi, have won just one of their last seven league games.

Inter welcome back winger Wesley Sneijder from injury but they will be without defender Walter Samuel, who must serve a one-match ban.

The hosts will be without suspended striker Carvalho Amauri while Peruvian midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
