But he promises he will not throw his toys out of the pram if Fernando Torres gets the nod from Roberto Di Matteo tomorrow. He added: “Rotation has been new for me but there’s nothing bad about it if the team is winning games and going forward.
“Of course I’d like to play in more games but so would all the other players so I can’t complain.”

Drogba’s stunning opener in Sunday’s 5-1 FA Cup semi-final thrashing of Spurs was his seventh in seven appearances at Wembley.

He says: “This one was special because I scored it with my left foot but I really want to thank Frank Lampard because his pass was fantastic.

“Frank has probably been involved in 80 per cent of all my goals for Chelsea and when he’s playing I know I have more chances to score.”

Yet England midfielder Lampard insists all the credit belongs to Drogba.

He said: “Didi has scored some iconic goals for Chelsea over the years and that goes right in there with them.

“We can give any team in the world a game when we play like that — including Barcelona.

“I know a lot of people are already writing us off but we are in the semi-finals on merit.

“We have to believe in ourselves and at Chelsea we feel we have given them tough games whenever we’ve met before and we’re ready to do the same again.”

Lampard believes their defeat in 2009 will have no bearing on tomorrow’s game.

He added: “We’re focussing on what’s happening now not three years ago.”

Meanwhile, Nicolas Anelka has confirmed he will try to lure his former Blues team-mate Drogba to China after taking over as coach of Shanghai Shenhua.
