Parma have the stomach for a fight - Donandonih

Parma coach Roberto Donadoni believes his side's hunger to fight for every point will be instrumental in their battle against relegation.

The Ducale club beat Novara 2-0 last time out and go into Sunday's clash at Palermo in 14th place with a four-point cushion over the drop zone with six games remaining.

"A victory on Sunday would mean a giant step towards defending our Serie A status," Donadoni said. "The important thing for us will be to get a result that allows us to move up in the standings."

Parma showed a drastic improvement against Novara, keeping a clean sheet for the third time this year.

"All we want to do is to continue to win," Donadoni said. "We are playing very well and showing a lot of determination and hunger, which are vital ingredients to avoid the drop."

Parma have won just twice on the road this season.

Fortunately for the visitors, Palermo have struggled to get results at home, taking just one point from their last four league games at La Favorita.

The Sicilians go into Sunday's encounter on the back of Wednesday's goalless draw at Fiorentina that left them in 11th place.

Palermo coach Bortolo Mutti defended his decision to rest captain Fabrizio Miccoli in midweek.

Miccoli, who is Palermo's top scorer with 12 goals so far, did not feature against Fiorentina with Mutti opting to play instead with attacking pair Josip Ilicic and Abel Hernandez.

"I thought it best to rest Miccoli in view of Sunday's game," Mutti said. "Miccoli will play from the start against Parma."

Palermo have mustered just one win in their last eight league games.
