MANCHESTER, England (AP)—Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero hopes to return from an ankle injury to face Arsenal on Sunday.

City never revealed the nature of Aguero’s problem last week, only describing it as a “stupid injury.”

On his personal website, Aguero says he injured his ankle during the March 21 game at Chelsea and it was sprayed with an anesthetic “that caused a burn on the upper part of my right foot.”

He explained that the “injury worsened after a few days and when boils appeared I was told I wouldn’t play against Stoke.”

The Argentina international says he returned to training on Wednesday and “if it all goes well, I’ll be at coach’s disposal next Sunday.”

City is five points behind Manchester United in the Premier League title race.
