Arbroath host Angus rivals Brechin City without the injured duo of full back Kieran McAnespie and striker Jordan Elfverson.

The Red Lichties have fallen seven points behind Cowdenbeath in the chase for the title but manager Paul Sheerin is not giving up.

He said: "We have a tough run with a derby against Brechin, Cowdenbeath away and then another derby against Forfar but if we come out of those three games with nine points we will still be in with a shout.

"This is a tough start to that quest as Brechin will be really keen to get something from this game as it is a derby and they also still have play-off aspirations."

Defender David McClune and winger Derek Carcary continue to miss out for Brechin as they look to win their first derby match of the season.

Captain Charlie King is also struggling with a calf injury ahead of the trip.

It remains uncertain which play-offs the Glebe Park side are heading for with manager Jim Weir saying: "Our inconsistency is certainly making life difficult for ourselves in terms of going for promotion and we also have to keep an eye out to ensure we do not get sucked into things at the bottom.

"We played Forfar in a derby three weeks ago and let ourselves down when we lost 4-1. We owe it to our fans to put on a much better display this time out."
