Behrami: I had the chance to join Juventus in January

Fiorentina midfielder Valon Behrami has admitted that there was a possibility of joining Juventus in the January transfer market.

The Switzerland international rejected the transfer to the Bianconeri as, according to him, he felt he would be 'betraying' Fiorentina if he moved to Turin.

Juventus are reportedly still interested in the 26-year-old, who has refused to commit his long-term future to Fiorentina.

"There was the possibility to join Juventus in January, but it is a closed chapter," Behrami told Radio Blu.

"I have never thought again about the possibility of leaving because I am very happy, even if we are not getting good results.

"I am fine here, and the same thing can be said about my family. We will see what happens in the future, it also depends on who is the new Fiorentina sporting director.

"But I have a great rapport with president Mario Cognigni."

Fiorentina are 16th in the Serie A standings, just six points above the relegation one.
