SECONDS FROM HELL ... Reo-Coker watches Muamba turn on style
"When I walked in there I choked up. He said 'All right, Nige?' But obviously he was not speaking so well because he was still a bit drugged up."
Even now, an emotional Reo-Coker struggles to find the words to express his feelings.
He admitted: "For me just to see him after what I saw on the pitch and the news we got in the dressing room...
"When your heart is not beating for that long, simply to be alive and recognise anyone is a miracle.
"Fabrice added, 'What happened?' I just choked up in all honesty. I couldn't even answer him.
"Darren told him, 'You just collapsed. But don't worry about it. You're going to be OK'.
"I was probably only in with him for about a minute, maximum. In and out.
"But to see him lying there with all the tubes and everything, it was tough."
Tough, yes, though just seeing Muamba again at all was a massive relief.
Make no mistake, last weekend the Wanderers players were sure that they had lost him.
Reo-Coker revealed: "We got back into the dressing room and heard they had shocked him six times.
"I spoke to the doctor and Fabrice's heart wasn't beating. Loads of people would come to their own conclusion. I feared the worst. That's me being honest. So to see him there and for him to open his eyes and say 'All right, Nige?' that was more than enough.
