MARIO BALOTELLI could miss Italy's European Championship campaign — unless he curbs his temper.

Italian boss Cesare Prandelli left the Manchester City star, 21, out of his squad for last month's friendly defeat to the United States for disciplinary reasons.

The Azzuri chief claimed the three red cards Balotelli has received while playing for City this season was the reason for his omission.

And Prandelli has warned the striker he faces being left out of the 23-man squad for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine this summer.

He said: "In my head, Balotelli is a starter.

"But he still needs to show that he's got the personality and capacity to handle this pressure."
