Tottenham slump continues, Chelsea win

LONDON, March 10 (Reuters) - Third-placed Tottenham Hotspur are looking anxiously over their shoulders after a 1-0 Premier League defeat at Everton continued an alarming slump in form.
A first-half goal by Nikica Jelavic was enough for Everton to condemn Spurs to a third consecutive league defeat after they had moved into contention for the title just a few weeks ago.
They are now only four points above Arsenal, who host Newcastle United on Monday, and Chelsea who beat Stoke City 1-0 on Saturday courtesy of a Didier Drogba goal.
Liverpool slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland while at the other end of the table Bolton Wanderers enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers to move out of the bottom three.
In another relegation clash, Blackburn Rovers won 2-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers while Aston Villa eased away from the danger zone with a 1-0 win over Fulham at Villa Park.
