Siena vs Palermo preview - Mutti eyes cure to travel sickness

Palermo coach Bortolo Mutti believes there is no better time for his side to end their 10-month winless run on the road than in Sunday's match at Siena.

The Sicilian outfit go into the encounter at the Artemio Franchi stadium on the back of a 5-1 triumph over Lazio.

The result was Palermo's fourth straight win at La Favorita and lifted Bortolo Mutti's side to eighth place.

"We did really well against Lazio," Mutti said. "But we must improve away from home.

"It's a big weight that this team carries for almost a year and it's a psychological problem.

"I have spoken to my players and we are working to try to resolve this issue.

"We need to start getting results on the road, starting at Siena.

"It will not be easy but we are in good spirits and I believe my team will do it."

Palermo have clinched just four points - all from draws - away from home so far.

Mutti is expected to field the same line-up that beat Lazio last weekend.

Rivals Siena are also winless on the road this season and have relied on home results to remain above the drop zone.

The Tuscan outfit followed the 4-1 loss at Lecce with a 1-0 defeat to Catania on Wednesday to drop to 17th place, just two points clear of the relegation zone.

A defeat could see the Bianconeri fall to the relegation zone for the first time this season.

"My players are aware of the importance of the game," Siena coach Giuseppe Sannino said. "But we have to look ahead and remain calm.

"We are on the right path, we just need results to go our way."

The home side will be without the team's top scorer Emanuele Calaio.

Calaio, who has struck 10 times in 23 league games, must serve a one-match ban this weekend.
