Bottom of the table Ayr entertain Livingston and the Honest Men are again short of bodies.

John Robertson, Martyn Campbell, Alan Trouten and Sean Higgins all out injured.

Manager Brian Reid's attempts to bring in a loan signing has not yet yielded results to leave the Somerset Park boss frustrated.

He said: "We have the smallest squad in the Division as it is so to lose good experienced players has hurt us hard.

"We will just need to patch ourselves up and get on with things and look to repeat the win we had over Livingston in the Scottish Cup.

"They will be flying after a good win last week and be keen to build on that but I am sure our players will rise to the challenge."

Livingston head to Somerset Park without injured duo of Jonathan Brown and David Sinclair.

Midfielder Sinclair remains sidelined with an ankle problem, while former Hearts full-back Brown has suffered a knock.

However, the Lions are on a high after a win in new manager John Hughes' first game last weekend over Raith Rovers.

Stefan Scougall picked up a minor injury in their 4-0 success, however Hughes expects him to be ready come kick off time.

Hughes said: "We will look to build on a good start but I have been in the game long enough to know not to get carried away. I have watched Ayr twice recently and they are a good resolute side that have a good mixture of youth and experience."

"Ayr are one of my former clubs and I know how well backed they are by their fans so this will be tough."
