Greenock Morton vs Hamilton FC preview - Young fitness doubt for Morton

I have a say

Morton will give experienced former Aberdeen midfielder Derek Young until the last minute to prove his fitness for the visit of Hamilton following an ankle injury.

The defensive trio of Andy Graham, Marc Smyth and Stuart McCaffrey remain out through knocks with Greenock boss Allan Moore hoping that Young plays after a fine display against the Accies in a 2-1 win earlier this month.

Moore said: "Derek gave a really good performance that night and that is why I am so keen for him to be available for this game."

"We have cost ourselves points in our last two games by missing penalties in goalless draws. The First Division is incredibly tight and you have to take your chances when they come up."

Hamilton will again be missing the experience of Mark McLaughlin and the youth of Ali Crawford for their trip to Renfrewshire.

Victory at Cappielow would make up for a disappointing defeat when the clubs met last midweek.

New Douglas Park boss Billy Reid said: "We have done well in our last half a dozen games apart from the Morton one where we just never showed up at all and lost 2-1 in a lacklustre way.

"We were very poor but we have the chance to put that to bed quickly.

"We have played well since that night and hopefully a good performance will see us repeat our 2-0 success down there earlier in the season."
