I have a say

Siena coach Giuseppe Sannino has demanded an immediate response from his players when they host Catania in Serie A.

Sannino was left angry and disappointed with his side's 4-1 defeat at Lecce on Sunday.

The result dropped Siena to 17th place, just two points clear of the relegation zone and Sannino has reminded his players of the importance of tomorrow's rescheduled encounter.

The game at the Artemio Franchi stadium was originally due to be played earlier this month, but was postponed due to heavy snow in Siena.

"It's obvious that after our performance at Lecce, we need to correct certain things," Sannino said.

"It's not the display I was hoping for and the heavy defeat doesn't help when preparing for Wednesday's very important game.

"In Lecce, we made too many mistakes and we were made to pay.

"We will try to make sure we don't repeat those mistakes against Catania."

The hosts will have to overcome the absence of defender Cristiano Del Grosso, who serves a one-match ban.

With the Tuscan outfit playing their next three games at home, Sannino hopes his side can take maximum points to help lift them up the standings.

"We have to focus on ourselves even though the teams that are behind us in the table are not slowing down," he said.

"That is why we need to get as many points as possible in our next matches, starting against Catania."

Catania, meanwhile, went down 3-1 at Juventus on Saturday, having previously beaten Genoa 4-0.

The Sicilians, who are two places and four points ahead of Siena, have not won on the road since beating Lecce 1-0 in November.

Since then Vincenzo Montella's men have taken two points from a possible 15 away from home.

Catania will be without suspended defender Marco Motta, while striker Paulo Barrientos is doubtful with a knee injury.
