Appeal ... David Beckham
DAVID Beckham last night threw his weight behind The Sun's campaign to highlight the famine crisis facing 300,000 children in East Africa.
He was among celebrities including Sir Alex Ferguson and comedian Eddie Izzard calling on our readers to help those caught in Africa's worst drought for 60 years.
Soccer legend Becks, a Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef, the United Nations' Children's Fund, spoke out after a heartfelt appeal by Prince William and wife Kate.
He urged readers: "There is nothing I wouldn't do for my children and I am sure you feel the same. Families in East Africa need you to do something."
Some of the worst hit kids have been helped by the royals' Unicef appeal, but thousands still face an uncertain future.
