Falkirk vs Dundee preview - El Alagui doubt for Bairns

I have a say

Falkirk's top goalscorer Farid El Alagui is a doubt with a hip injury for the meeting between the second and third-placed sides in the First Division when Dundee visit the Falkirk Stadium.

The Moroccan was injured in Saturday's 1-0 win at Hamilton Accies, however Kieran Duffie, who suffered a nose injury in the same game, is expected to be available.

Steven Pressley's side looked jaded in Saturday's success and the Bairns manager is taking things easy for the contest with the Dens Park men.

He said: "I cannot be too harsh on the players as they have given us so much and it caught up with them a bit.

"We have given them time off to recover and have plenty of energy to face a good Dundee side."

Dundee winger Nicky Riley is a doubt for his side's visit to Falkirk where a win would put Barry Smith's side into second spot.

A combination of a hamstring injury and illness kept Riley out of the 1-1 draw with Queen of the South on Saturday and Smith will not play the former Celtic player unless he is fully ready.

The Dark Blues are hoping the three players that picked up head knocks at Palmerston, Rhys Weston, Neil McGregor and Jake Hyde, will all be declared fit for this one.

Smith said: "This is a big game and we will be looking for the three points. We have lost by the one goal at their place twice this season and it would be great to turn that around."
