Ranieri defiant despite Bologna humbling

Claudio Ranieri insists he will not step down as Inter Milan coach despite seeing his side fall to an embarassing 3-0 loss to Bologna on Friday evening.

Marco Di Vaio scored twice while Robert Acquafresca grabbed another as the Rossoblu condemned Inter to their 6th match without a win, and their third consecutive Serie A defeat.

And while the the pressure seems to be increasing on Ranieri, with the Nerazzurri faithful singing former coach Jose Mourinho's name at Friday's game, the Inter tactician insists he is only focused on getting his side out of their current slump.

"I am not planning anything," Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia. "We are all united in trying to find a solution to these problems.

"We are not giving our all. We are going through a difficult moment.

"We must take responsibility and apologise to our fans and the president.

The former Chelsea and Valencia coach also admits his team have work to do at the back, after watching their opponents score with ease recently, most notably when Palermo and Roma both scored four goals against them.

"We expected a difficult match [against Bologna] but never with this outcome.

"We had found a balance and a good tactical unity. But we have lost this now and we concede goals at the first chance our opponents get."

To make matters worse for Ranieri, Inter have a crucial Champions League round-of-16 clash against Marseille next Wednesday.
