Fiorentina vs Napoli preview - Rossi keen to build on revival

Fiorentina coach Delio Rossi has urged his team to maintain their recent momentum when they host Napoli.

The Viola looked earlier this season like they would be involved in a relegation scrap following a slow start to the campaign.

However, The Tuscan outfit have enjoyed a good run of form of late and two wins in their last three games - including an impressive 3-2 triumph over Udinese last time out - has seen them climb to 11th in the standings with two games in hand.

"I think the side is getting back on the right path and it will be important to build on the results in the coming weeks," Rossi said.

The Viola have lost just one of their last eight games at home and head into the game fully rested after their encounter at Parma last weekend was postponed due to heavy snow.

Rossi's men will be bolstered by the return of the team's leading scorer Stevan Jovetic.

Jovetic, who has netted 12 times this season, has recovered from a minor knee injury and will lead the attack.

A win on Friday would be a big boost in confidence for Napoli, ahead of their busy schedule.

Napoli host Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League next Tuesday before facing Inter Milan at the San Paolo stadium on February 26.

The Naples outfit go into the encounter in Florence on the back of Monday's 2-0 triumph over Chievo, their first triumph since January 8.

The result halted Napoli's five-game winless run and lifted Walter Mazzarri's side to seventh place.

Mazzarri wants his players to focus solely on the game at Fiorentina and not on next week's European showdown.

"This is a very important game for us," he said. "No one should hand an under-par performance against Fiorentina, otherwise they risk losing their place in the line-up in next week's Champions League game."

Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro returns from suspension while striker Eduardo Vargas is still out injured.
