Greece call up for Kaiserslautern’s Fortounis

Kaiserslautern attacking midfielder Costas Fortounis has been called up to the Greek squad for the first time for a Feb. 29 friendly against Belgium.
Greece coach Fernando Santos named the 19-year-old Bundesliga player in an initial seven-man selection on Wednesday for the warm-up match before the European Championship.
Also summoned were Fanis Gekas (Samsunspor), Georgios Samaras (Celtic), Alexandros Tziolis (Monaco), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Werder Bremen), Alexandros Tzorvas (Palermo) and Kyriakos Papadopoulos (Schalke).
Greece plays co-host Poland in the opening match of the tournament on June 8 and also faces Russia and the Czech Republic in Group A.
