Brechin will be without Charlie King against Airdrie due to a calf knock as the hosts look to repeat December's win over the Diamonds and pull level with them in the Scottish Second Division.

Gerry McLauchlan and Derek Carcary are also out, with new recruits Jonny Lindsay and Rory McKenzie in line for debuts.

Glebe Park boss Jim Weir said: "A repeat of that win (in December) would be great but we know how dangerous Airdrie can be. They went down to 10 men that day and still scored two goals so we cannot switch off at all against them.

"We have not played for four weeks so we need to get up to speed quickly, especially against a side that will be confident after hitting four past Stirling a fortnight ago."

Midfielder Fraser Keast misses out with an ankle injury as Airdrie look for their first win against Brechin this season.

Defender Cameron MacDonald is included as a trialist for a third and final time, with manager Jimmy Boyle hoping his side can open up a six-point gap on the Glebe Park men, who boast three games in hand.

Boyle said: "This would be a big game for us to win as I am a great believer in having the points on board as opposed to games in hand.

"Brechin played really well against us down at our place when they won 3-2 but we drew 1-1 on their patch earlier in the season and have it in ourselves to win this time out."
