Bradley committed to Egypt job despite turmoil

LONDON (AP)—Bob Bradley says he is “totally committed” to coaching Egypt’s national team despite the riot at a game last week that left more than 70 dead.

Egypt’s football federation president and his board were dismissed by the prime minister immediately after Wednesday’s Port Said rampage.

Bradley, a former coach of the U.S. national team, tells broadcaster Al-Jazeera that “when a tragedy like this occurs it’s important that people can come and can be strong.”

The American added that “in my role as coach of the national team I want to do whatever I can in my responsibilities to help with this process.”

Bradley is unsure if Egypt’s 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier will go ahead in the Central African Republic as planned on Feb. 29.
