Fiorentina vs Udinese preview - Udinese target away day triumph

Udinese striker Floro Flores hopes his side can begin to replicate their home form on the road, starting at Fiorentina on Sunday.

Lecce were the latest victims of Udinese at the Friuli stadium in midweek, losing 2-1. The victory was the Bianconeri's 10th at home and saw them surpass the all-important figure of 40 points which is often seen as the number needed to avoid relegation.

"It was an important win for us," Flores said. "We are now safe. We are doing very well at home but we know this may not last so we need to start getting better results on the road.

"Now we have to take it one game at a time without looking too much at the standings. On Sunday we face a difficult game against Fiorentina and we must be ready."

Udinese have not won away from home since a 1-0 triumph over Inter Milan on December 3. Since then, they have mustered one point from a possible 12.

Their impressive run at home, which has seen them take 30 of a possible 32 points, has kept Udinese third in the standings, three points behind Serie A leaders Juventus, who have a game in hand.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, climbed to 15th place after last weekend's 2-1 triumph over Siena, their second win in seven games.

"We still have a lot of room for improvement," Fiorentina coach Delio Rossi said. "But the important thing is that we give continuity to Sunday's result."

Fiorentina have lost just one of their last seven games in Florence and go into the encounter fully rested after their midweek game at Bologna was postponed due to heavy snow.

The visitors welcome back defender Pablo Armero from suspension while Andrea Coda is expected to replace defender Larangeira Danilo, who serves a one-match ban.
