Lecce vs Bologna preview - Lecce boss demands better

Lecce coach Serse Cosmi expects an improved performance from his players when they host Bologna on Sunday after their midweek defeat at Udinese.

Cosmi's men fell 2-1 on Wednesday in what was their first defeat in four games.

The result left Lecce in 18th place, three points from safety.

"We made too many mistakes and that cost us dearly," Cosmi said. "At times it felt as though Udinese played as the team that was 18th in the standings and we as the side that is third.

"We didn't show a sense or urgency to get a result and we waited for Udinese to hit us instead of playing our game. We cannot let that happen against Bologna.

"We have to impose our game play from start to finish."

Bologna, meanwhile, have an extra bounce in their step after holding Roma to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend.

"I have to applaud my men," Bologna coach Stefano Pioli said.

"We came up against a strong Roma side and we battled from start to finish. Given the performance and sacrifice I think we deserved the point.

"We are in a fine moment of form but the job is by no means done.

"With this approach I'm confident we can reach our objectives but we must remain focused and take things a game at a time."

Bologna have shown form at both ends of the pitch, scoring four goals while conceding just two in their last four games.

The Rossoblu travel to the Via Del Mare stadium looking to extend their four-match unbeaten run and clinch their first win on the road since October 26.

Bologna lie five points clear of the bottom three but have a game in hand after their encounter against Fiorentina on Wednesday was postponed due to heavy snow.
