Dumbarton are without suspended midfielder Kevin Nicoll when leaders Cowdenbeath arrive so youngster Tony Wallace will start in his place.

Martin McNiff should shake off a knock to feature as the Sons look to make it four wins in a row with manager Alan Adamson viewing this game as an excellent yardstick for measuring progress.

Adamson said: "The last time Cowdenbeath were here they gave us a bit of a chasing and won 4-0 far too easily. Based on that performance I would say they are the best team in the Second Division.

"We played them up at their place but the wind ruined that game so hopefully we can gauge any improvement we have made in this one."

Cowdenbeath include loan signing Gary Fisher from Kilmarnock in their squad.

The 19-year-old is expected to take the place of player/manager Colin Cameron, who has been ruled out by a medial knee injury.

The Second Division leaders welcome back Jon Robertson after a knock and centre-back Joe Mbu is expected to shake off an injury to play but Thomas O'Brien remains out with a broken foot.

Cameron said: "Arbroath have narrowed the gap on us to two points but we are still in the position we wanted to be at the start of the season. A repeat of the 4-0 success we had at Dumbarton earlier this season would be a great success."
