Airdrie United vs Stirling preview - Trialist McDonald given reprise
Posted Saturday, January 28, 2012 by PA
Airdrie will include defender Cameron McDonald against Stirling as a trialist.
McDonald was sent off in last Saturday's clash with Dumbarton, but will only serve the suspension should he be signed.
Goalkeeper Grant Adam, signed on loan from Rangers, will be in the squad, but Kieron Stallard (suspended) and Kevin Green (broken foot) are set to miss out.
Manager Jimmy Boyle said: "Stirling Albion have shown a lot of passion and fight recently for their new management team but, having lost our last two league games, we need a win.
"We do not want to fall any further behind in the race for a play-off place so taking three points from this game is crucial."
Stirling have brought in former Hearts and Raith Rovers striker Graham Weir from Brechin in a bid to bolster their attacking options.
Goalkeeper Sam Filler is Albion's only absentee as Grieg McDonald looks to continue the impressive start he has made to being the club's manager by seeing off the Diamonds.
McDonald said: "We may be at the bottom of the table but we have a couple of teams in our reach now and a positive result at Airdrie will help even more.
"They have very good attacking players in Ryan Donnelly and Willie McLaren and if we stop them playing we are in with a good chance.
"I am delighted to bring Graham in and he has looked hungry for goals in training."
