Forfar vs Dumbarton preview - Sons waiting on Agnew

I have a say

Dumbarton will give midfielder Scott Agnew until the last minute to prove his fitness ahead of the clash with Forfar after suffering from a bug for most of the week.

The Sons also have doubts over full-back Ryan Finnie and striker Pat Walker, who picked up knocks in last week's 3-2 success at Airdrie.

Manager Alan Adamson has been impressed with the battling qualities of his men, saying: "In our last three games we have come up with last-minute winners and the players deserve great credit for turning what would have been three points into nine.

"They will need that battling spirit again at Forfar as any team that can beat Cowdenbeath as they did last week deserve great respect."

Forfar will hand fitness tests to Iain Campbell, David Mowat and Martyn Fotheringham.

It has been a week of mixed emotions at Station Park, with manager Dick Campbell saying: "Last Saturday was a real high as we defeated the league leaders and moved off the foot of the table.

"But then we lost a two-goal lead against Stirling Albion and the chance to move even closer to the teams above us.

"I was really disappointed by that, but it is all about Dumbarton now. If we are serious about moving up the table this is the type of game that we needed to win."

Dumbarton currently sit seven points and four places ahead of the Loons in the table.
