Udinese vs Catania preview - Suazo aiming to make his mark

Catania striker David Suazo wants to make up for lost time when his team visits Udinese.

Suazo is set to return to action at the Friuli stadium this weekend having recovered from a thigh injury that has kept him out of action since October.

"I've been working with the team for the last two weeks and I'm delighted to be back," Suazo said. "I suffered an ugly injury.

"My hope is to play as soon as possible and help the team.

"I have a debt with this club that has believed in me and I'm grateful to them.

"I have five months to prove to everyone that I want to remain here."

Suazo, whose contract with Catania expires this summer, has made just three league appearances for the Sicilians this season.

The Honduras international knows his team faces a big test as they look to end Udinese's unbeaten home run in Serie A on Sunday.

"We need to be focused and determined against Udinese," Suazo said. "I'm sure that if the team displays the same character it showed against Roma, we can have a say."

Catania wasted a hatful of chances against Roma last Saturday before the game was suspended in the 65th minute due to a waterlogged pitch with the contest level at 1-1.

Catania, 11th in the standings, will play the final 25 minutes of that game next month.

In the meantime, Vincenzo Montella's men will look to claim their first win in 2012 on Sunday.

Udinese, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back from last weekend's 3-2 defeat at Genoa, their third loss of the season.

The Bianconeri sit third, three points behind Serie A leaders Juventus.

Francesco Guidolin's men will fancy their chances as they have won eight of their nine league games at the Friuli stadium so far.

The hosts are hoping to have Chilean midfielder Mauricio Isla, who is doubtful with a thigh injury.
