Ayr have added Blackpool youngster Liam Tomsett to their squad ahead of their match against visiting Hamilton.

Tomsett, who arrives on loan, joins fellow Bloomfield Road player Adam Dodd at the club.

Martyn Campbell and Alan Trouten are major doubts, but goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert is over the ankle injury he suffered against Falkirk last week and will feature.

Somerset Park boss Brian Reid said: "We have played well in both of our games against Hamilton so far this season, even the one they beat us at the start of the season.

"It is really important that we do well in this game as we have a break from league fixtures for a couple of weeks and I do not want to be going into it on the back of a defeat."

Hamilton will be without striker Dougie Imrie, who has joined SPL St Mirren, and defender Mark McLaughlin, who completes a two-game ban.

On-loan signings Jon McShane and Danny Redmond are available after missing out on the 1-0 defeat to St Mirren in the Scottish Cup in midweek through ineligibility, with Alex Neil also expected to return after injury.

New Douglas Park manager Billy Reid said: "We played well in midweek but it is back to the bread and butter stuff now.

"We will miss Dougie but someone else now has the chance to grab goals for us.

"We have won our last two league games and it would be great to make it three and get into the top half of the table."
