Salomon Kalou 'eyed by Everton' after Arsenal decide not to bid

Salomon Kalou has emerged as a transfer target for Everton, after Arsenal decided against making a bid for the Chelsea striker.
The Ivorian is in the final year of his contract and will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge for a cut-price fee this month.
It was rumoured he had held talks with Arsenal, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said on Friday that the 26-year-old would not be joining the club.
Everton now hope to take advantage of the situation to land Kalou in a bargain deal, reports the Times.
The Toffees have struggled for goals all season and Leon Osman, Leighton Baines and Apostolos Vellios are the club's joint top scorers with just three Premier League strikes each.
David Moyes is keen to bring in a striker, but has little money to spend, so Kalou represents an attractive option.
One issue that could cause problems in the negotiations is salary, as Everton will struggle to match the ex-Feyenoord forward's current deal.
