Maxwell: In talks with PSG after fee was agreed
Barcelona have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Paris Saint Germain for Brazilian Maxwell.
The left-sided defender has travelled to the French capital to open talks with PSG over a move.
The 30-year-old is expected to agree terms and sign before the weekend and become Carlo Ancelotti's first signing since arriving at the Parc des Princes.
"Once Maxwell and PSG resolve the Brazilian's contractual details, he will undergo a medical exam and the transfer will become official," Barca said on their official website on Wednesday.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola said he would not stand in Maxwell's way should a move emerge, as he is very much on the fringes of the first-team squad at the Camp Nou.
Maxwell joined Barca in 2009 from Inter Milan and has featured over 50 times for the World and European champions.
