Fergie: Luis race rap right

FACE-OFF ... Suarez and Evra in one of their many confrontations during Liverpool's clash with United on October 15
ALEX FERGUSON says football was right to punish Luis Suarez for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra.
Boss Fergie said: "Our support of Patrice was obvious, right from the word go and that's still the same.
"The matter is over and I think we're satisfied they've found the right decision."
Liverpool striker Suarez was handed an eight-game ban by the FA.
Ferguson was also quick to prevent the situation escalating into a United-Liverpool club war.
He said: "It's not about Manchester United and Liverpool. It's an individual situation where a person was racially abused."
Ferguson clearly believes there is already enough tension between the two most successful clubs in English football history.
He said: "It doesn't take a lot to remind everyone this is the biggest derby game in the country, up until the present anyway.
"It's never needed anything to light the powder-keg, it's always there."
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish and his players wore T-shirts in support of Suarez before their game at Wigan on Wednesday.
The United boss pointed out that Evra received a four-match ban for an altercation with a groundsman at Chelsea in 2008.
Ferguson said: "Patrice got that suspension for the incident at Chelsea when no one was there, just a groundsman and our fitness coach.
"A four-match ban for that was well over the top for a trivial incident."
