Kenny Dalglish is leading English football into anarchy

SHOPAHOLIC .... Darren Bent
The Villa striker went Christmas shopping last Sunday while his mates were being beaten 2-0 by Liverpool.
Bent claims he did so after being told to go home and rest his thigh injury.
Apparently, had he stayed to give his support at Villa Park there was a danger he may have stiffened up.
Isn't it strange, though, how Shay Given's hamstring problem doesn't get worse when he sits in the stands?
The injured keeper was at Bolton to see Villa win — and only Ice Station Zebra registers colder temperatures than the Reebok Stadium.
But the damning indictment of Bent's actions came from his own mouth.
He said: "I watched a large chunk of the game, up to about 70 minutes, then suddenly remembered I had to go out to the shops for a Christmas present."
That shopping trip wasn't a storm in a teacup as Villa boss Alex McLeish claimed. It went right to the heart of why Bent has never been signed by a Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea.
He may be one of English football's most prolific goalscorers but for Bent, that's quite enough. It's so inconvenient having to worry about the team when there are things like shopping to do.
RECEIVED the season's greetings from FIFA in my inbox this week. It was accompanied by the message "we look forward to another fantastic football year once again in 2012."
After the year that president Sepp Blatter and his pals have just had it just about sums up FIFA that they think the last 12 months have been "fantastic."
HOW good of the ECB to lend 489billion Euros this week to help bail out the economies of Greece, Spain and Italy to name but a few. And they say there's no money in cricket.
