PLAYER POWER ... Utd aces are pressing Scholes to return
MANCHESTER UNITED aces are pressing midfield legend Paul Scholes to come out of retirement.
Scholes, 37, called time on his illustrious career at the end of last season and has since been coaching youth and reserve team players at the club.
In recent weeks with injuries piling up, his old team-mates have been hinting that he should make a comeback.
There has been no official approach from manager Alex Ferguson himself — who is refusing to panic despite being without eight first-team players.
But the boss did try to talk Scholes out of retiring at the end of last season and sign on for another year.
Scholes refused but in an interview with SunSport shortly after this season started, he admitted feeling some regret at not playing on for one more season.
He remains an option on Fergie's doorstep if his injury crisis deepens in the New Year.
