East Fife vs Albion Rovers preview - East Fife not all White
Posted Saturday, December 17, 2011 by PA
East Fife have been dealt a significant injury blow, with centre-back David White ruled out of the match against in-form Albion due to a finger injury.
The Fifers are also missing Andrew Cook, Craig Johnstone and Scott Dalziel as they take on a side manager John Robertson has nothing but praise for.
Robertson said: "Paul Martin has done a brilliant job at Albion Rovers and the recent run they have been on has been great, especially when you consider they have just been promoted and were bottom of the league after the first round of games.
"In saying that, we will be going all out to do what we need to do, which is beat them and move into the play-off spot they currently occupy."
Albion Rovers will again be without left-back Barry Russell.
Russell is suffering with a hamstring injury and, therefore, will be sidelined for the clash.
Manager Paul Martin is demanding his players take something from the game, insisting Rovers need to prove they are one of Division Two`s better sides.
He said: "The squad have done tremendously well, but people will think it is a flash in the pan unless we keep achieving results.
"East Fife beat us 3-0 the last time we met when we were in the habit of giving away goals and missing chances, but we have improved since then.
"Going to a tough place like New Bayview and showing that we have tightened up and can take chances would be a good day`s work."
