Fiorentina captain Alessandro Gamberini has called on the club supporters to give coach Delio Rossi time to get it right ahead of the game against Atalanta.

Rossi replaced sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic last month but has led the Viola to just one victory in four league games.

Fiorentina lost 2-0 at Inter Milan last time out to drop to 14th place, level on 16 points with Atalanta.

"Time is needed to see Rossi's impact on the team," Gamberini said.

"We are working so hard and everyone is rowing in the same direction.

"We are the first to be disappointed with our performances away from home.

"We played badly against Inter and we are the first to admit it.

"But our fans have to be patient because we will and can do better."

Fiorentina have mustered just two points on the road this season, while they have been more prolific in Tuscany.

The Viola go into Saturday's encounter looking for their fifth win at the Artemio Franchi stadium.

The good news for the hosts is that rivals Atalanta have also struggled away from home.

Stefano Colantuono's men have not won on their travels since November 6.

They go into the encounter on the back of a disappointing 1-1 result against 10-men Catania - their fourth consecutive draw.

"We should have won against Catania considering we dominated the game and had plenty of chances to score the winner," Colantuono said.

"But now we must turn the page and focus on the game in Florence, which will be a difficult test for us."

The hosts will be without injured midfielder Riccardo Montolivo, but will be bolstered by the return of striker Stevan Jovetic.

Jovetic, the team's top scorer with six league goals so far, has recovered from a hip injury that saw him miss the game at Inter.
