Stenhousemuir 1 - 1 Airdrie United - Chance missed for Warriors
Posted Saturday, December 10, 2011 by PA
Stenhousemuir missed the opportunity to gain ground on the top two in Division Two as Airdrie battled back to earn a 1-1 draw.
Andy Rodgers scored the opener after four minutes, the Warriors' top scorer grabbing his 11th of the season with a powerful left-footed strike past Connor Fairley.
Stewart Kean then came close to doubling the lead after 23 minutes, but Fairley did well to close down the striker when he looked likely to score.
Kean was left kicking himself in the second half as Airdrie scored with their first shot on target, William McLaren netting the equaliser midway through the second half with a composed finish.
Airdrie carried the momentum into the final stages and Jamie Bain could have stolen all three points, but his tame shot dribbled wide.
