Alexandre Pato: Milan claim they have no plans to use him to sweeten Tevez deal
AC Milan have brushed aside rumours one of their stars will be used to help lure Carlos Tevez to the San Siro.
While Milan claim they have offered to take the controversial striker on loan in January, Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini insists the Premier League leaders are only willing to consider a permanent move.
Speculation in England claimed the Italian champions were considering using Alexandre Pato or another of their top players as part of a swap deal for Tevez.
But Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani has assured the club's supporters that is not the case.
"There is an offer sent to Manchester for Tevez," he told milannews.it.
No departures
"However, we have not spoken about any of our players going to City or any other club.
"Our fans can be calm because this is the truth."
Milan claimed this week they had reached an agreement with Tevez and had sent an offer to City to take the player on loan in the winter transfer market.
"We know that City's desire is to sell the player but our offer is to get the player on loan with an option to make that deal permanent," Galliani said.
"We hope that City says yes because our offer will not be modified."
Paris St Germain are believed to have joined the race for Tevez, 27, who returned to his native Argentina last month without City's permission and is yet to report back to the club.
