Osvaldo apologizes to teammate for striking him

Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo has apologized for striking teammate Erik Lamela across the face after a 2-0 loss to Udinese last week.

Osvaldo says on TV program Striscia la Notizia that he is “very sorry for what happened” and “I regretted it immediately and apologized to everyone.”

He struck Lamela after becoming visibly angered during Friday’s match by a wayward pass from him.

Osvaldo was fined by the club and suspended for Sunday’s match against Fiorentina.
