Siena twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at home against Atalanta.
Two goals from German Denis had twice given the visitors the lead but Gaetano D'Agostino and Alessandro Gazzi levelled the scores.
The result means mid-table Siena have extended their unbeaten run at their Artemio Franchi stadium to four games and are one point clear of Atalanta.
Siena went into the game without the services of injured striker Emanuele Calaio, the team's top scorer.
The hosts started the game well and Marcelo Larrondo almost gave them the lead in the fifth minute but his powerful header from D'Agostino's cross was kept out by Atalanta goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.
Atalanta went in front in the 15th minute after Denis was brought down in the area by Siena goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo.
Denis took the spot-kick and beat Pegolo with a right-footed strike towards the bottom left corner.
Franco Brienza had the chance to equalise on two occasions before the half-hour mark but his close-range efforts were saved by Consigli.
Two minutes before the break, the referee pointed to the spot after Thomas Manfredini had fouled Larrondo in the area.
D'Agostino coolly struck the ball past Consigli and into the top-right corner of the net.
Siena almost went in front one minute after the re-start but Mattia Destro's six-yard shot was saved by Consigli.
In the 52nd minute, Atalanta reclaimed the lead after Denis got his head onto Cristian Raimondi's cross and beat Pegolo with a powerful effort.
Siena did not give up and their efforts were rewarded three minutes from time.
Consigli did well to clear substitute Reginaldo's hard drive from outside the area and the ball fell to Gazzi, who tapped in for a 2-2 draw.
