Venky's deny Blackburn sale again

Blackburn's owners Venky's have again moved to dismiss reports that discussions were under way to sell the Ewood Park club.

Rovers issued a brief initial denial on Monday following claims the Ewood Park club was interesting investors from the Middle East.

And now Venky's have issued a further statement confirming their long-term commitment to the Premier League strugglers.

The Indian firm have only been in control of the North West outfit for the past 12 months and have endured a rocky tenure to date, with increasing protests over their ownership and the position of manager Steve Kean.

But Venky's chairperson Anuradha Desai has flatly rejected reports of meetings with the Qatar Royal Family and has reiterated they have 'no intention of selling'.

Desai told the club's official website: "There have been reports that someone from the Royal Family of Qatar was in India to meet us and discuss the possibility of buying the club.

"We would like to clarify that there is absolutely no truth in these reports.

"No-one from Qatar - or anywhere else - visited us.

"We have no intention of selling and are totally committed to the club.

"There is no possibility of us selling the club."
