After the revelation Neville refused to hold a Liverpool shirt with his name on the back.
The defender took pleasure in goading Liverpool players and fans throughout his career.
In 2006 he was fined £5,000 for a wild celebration in front of the travelling Kop crowd at Old Trafford after a last-minute goal.
