Christian Eriksen: I never thought about leaving Ajax for Manchester City

Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen says he recently turned down the chance to join Premier League big spenders Manchester City.
The 19-year-old, who was recently crowned the Danish Player of the Year, revealed that City had made an offer for him but he was not interested.
“My agent told me about interest from Manchester City, but it is nothing I thought about,” Eriksen is quoted by Sky Sports as saying. “There is no point moving to a club where I will sit on the bench. If I moved to City there would be a big risk.”
The youngster has insisted that he is in no hurry to move to a bigger club and will only leave when he is guaranteed a regular place in the starting XI of one of Europe’s elite teams.
The midfielder was a key player for Ajax as it went on to lift the Eredivisie title last season and he has scored three goals in 12 league games for Frank de Boer’s side so far this term.
