ZURICH (AP)—Sepp Blatter is reviving a FIFA panel of experts to bolster reforms of football’s world governing body.
The FIFA president says he will bring back the Strategic Committee, which includes representatives from clubs, leagues, players and referees, to “show to the world that we are going to work in our own family.”
FIFA describes the 28-member panel’s role as dealing with “global strategies for football and its political, economic and social status.” It last met in April 2009.
Blatter says the group will work separately from four FIFA task forces which are suggesting changes to a new “solutions” committee.
Blatter outlined his transparency and anti-corruption program Monday to the International Football Arena conference.
